Over the past five years, we have been supporting Stonewater properties to deliver a variety of repairs and improvements to homes in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Shropshire.
We spoke to Darren Lacey, Operations Manager at Stonewater to discuss how they have found working with GB Electrical and Building Services.

Why did you choose GB Electrical & Building Services Ltd to complete the work?
GB have been working with Stonewater for five years, some of which was before my time but looking at the reports this has been built upon their eagerness and willingness to work with us. They are not in it for a quick job but take pride in the work they deliver. Well, you have to be doing something as the work we hand to GB is growing all the time and you still manage to deliver to a high standard.
Did the service meet your expectations?
Perfectly, fantastically. Every request is actioned, every resident is given the respect and courtesy which we would all hope for within our own homes. The service has been absolutely brilliant. If there is ever anything that hasn’t quite gone to plan Craig will notify us and the issue will be addressed before any problem arises.
How has the work impacted property/residents/staff?
It impacts in a positive way. For our inhouse staff members you are our go-to company. If things don’t go right with another contractor we come to you and you get the job done. Your company is great at problem solving. As I said for our residents, your company is polite and helpful. We have some difficult situations but these are dealt with respectively.
Why is it important to use local contractors?
For me, it’s all very well using big corporate companies but we find using local contractors makes life easier. We are utilizing the contractors local knowledge, they have an understanding of what stock and resources are available from where, usually at competitive prices, they can relate to our residents, they know the property types we are dealing with and most importantly the geographic; they know the area. Since I’ve worked here, I have built up a really good rapport with Craig, our projects manager at GB. We have an open and honest relationship which makes it much easier to share the good and bad news.
