Why did you choose GB Home Adaptations to complete the work?
We received a DFG grant from Herefordshire Council and you were on their recommended contractor list. We were very grateful to receive this funding as it enabled us to convert the annex bathroom into a complete level access wetroom that would enable my partner to live and function at home more easily.
Did the service meet your expectations?
Stuart, my builder was very easy to get along with, his work was very good and he was very practical. The timetable didn’t quite go to plan but of course Covid also ripped into that as it didn’t help that I caught the virus and had to stop the workflow until I was better. I am happy with the finish. We added some of our own private funds to personalise it and make it up to my partner’s standard and taste as the grant only provided basic components.
How has it impacted your daily life?
My partner has been in hospital for several months and there was a point when we thought he would not be coming home. However, he is improving and now that we have the wetroom adaptation it will make it possible for him to come home out of hospital and have home nursing instead of going to a nursing home.
If you were to recommend us, what would you say?
On the whole they were great. The gentlemen involved in the project were all very nice. They were all accommodating and helpful and I am grateful for that.
